Top 5 Ways to know your a New Mom!

So today is my first day all alone with Carter. Alan is at the fire station and Marmie had to go back to work. So far we are adjusting well and are enjoying being lazy together. While I have only been a mom now for about two weeks, I have learned quickly that there are a few ways that set moms apart from other people. The following are just a few ways that my world has changed and that I know I am no longer a "normal" person but a mom!
Top 5 Ways to know your a New Mom:
5. You are super excited your tennis shoes fit again even if your pants don't!
4. You are not confused by where the wet spots on your shirt came from!
3. You get excited when you get a full night's sleep(which means you only got up twice for feedings)
2. You would rather spend the day smelling like spit up than bother changing.
1. and number 1....You realize halfway through straightening your hair that the yellow smudge on your hand is your son's poop not mustard from your sandwich at lunch and yet it doesn't gross you out.

Carter has Arrived!

Well this post is only a week and a day late, but in my defense I warned you that I would be bad at the updating thing. Anyway, Carter Wesley Lewis has officially arrived. He was born on November 2,2011 at 9:46 p.m. He weighed 7lbs 6oz and is 22 inches long. After 15 hours of labor, I finally had a c section. Needless to say he is a little strong willed and did not want to enter the world until he was ready. All worked out well though, and because of his late arrival Uncle Mike, Aunt Riah, Maddie, Rivers, and Gloria all got to Columbus in time for his birth. We have been home for about a week now, and with the help of family and friends we are beginning to adjust to being a family of three. We especially appreciate Marmie's help. She has gone with us to the doctor, fixed supper, and stayed with us while Alan was working. She was even kind enough to take the night shift our second night home so that I could get some rest. Above are a few pictures of Carter's birth and our hospital stay. Hope you enjoy!
